One .motion file,a starting point for your next video.
MotionGit helps turn AI-created videos into templates you can edit, reuse, and build on. We maintain the .motion format and a platform for discovering and sharing templates.
What we do
A format, a platform, and a place to collaborate.
A public specification, schema, and reference samples for tools that read and write .motion files.
motion/0.1 draftTemplate platformFind and share video templates with source code, input contracts, style variants, and license details.
/templatesVideo collaborationPreserve source and attribution as video projects evolve. Connected repositories support Git versions, forks, and pull requests; visual comparisons remain a demo.
/gitOur vision
Make creation easier. Keep credit with the creator.
A finished video rarely includes the source project behind it. The .motion format packages editable source and an input contract so others can reuse a project while preserving its origins. Creator payouts are planned for a later release.
What we believe
Built for creators and the tools they use.
Reuse the animation, timing, and visual style while adding new content.
Forks preserve their source and attribution. Creator earnings from paid distribution are planned for a later release.
The specification and checker are public. An assistant with file access can read a package’s manifest and instructions.
Uploaded packages receive static checks. Package instructions are inspected as data; their code is not executed by the platform.
